STATIIONS
We will have at least 6 stations set up on tables. More stations may be available if there is enough demand and available space. Each station will have a 23" x 16" x 6" tray with eggcrate, lighting, and circulation. The cost to rent a station is $5 for NMS members* and $10 for non-members. Those wishing to rent a station must register and pay at least one week prior to the event. Payment for a station is non-refundable. These are on a first come first served basis. Sharing a station is allowed but not recommended due to the risk of transmitting parasites and/or diseases. You may bring your own equipment to supplement a station.
FLOAT TANK
For those who only have a couple of frags to sell, there will be a float tank(s) provided with heated water at no charge for NMS members (as outlined above). For non-members there will be a charge of $1 per item put into the float tank (regardless of if it sells or not). Frags must be in a clear bag labeled with the type of coral, the seller’s name and the asking price. If someone wishes to purchase something from the float tank and the seller is unavailable at the time, NMS will collect the money for the owner. However, NMS is not responsible for the condition of the coral and will only accept the labeled price. NMS will not haggle on your behalf.
ALL SALES/TRADES MUST BE FROM A STATION OR THE FLOAT TANK
SELLERS
All sellers must be registered. Participants must wear a (supplied) lanyard ID badge to identify themselves as a registered seller. No sales/trades will be permitted without an ID badge. Badges will be issued at the event. No sharing of badges with the exception of immediate family members assisting in the sale.
Sellers are responsible for all equipment that they utilize, i.e. tanks, pumps, heaters, lights, water, etc. There will be a limited supply (around 50 gallons) of RODI on hand for your needs. This water is for ALL sellers to use for replenishment from evaporation and sale of corals etc. Recommended items to bring include towels, bags (for frags), tape, and permanent markers. For safety reasons, all items brought to the swap must fit on or under the seller's table. No additional storage will be provided.
TIME
The frag swap will start at 3:00pm and end at 8:00pm. Sellers can begin setting up 2 hours prior to the start of the event. This will give the corals an opportunity to open after transport. Carts and two wheelers will be provided to assist sellers moving their items to and from the parking lot. Sellers will have access to the kitchen area which includes a sink, stove, and microwave oven. Sellers/Vendors are prohibited from selling food items to the attendees.
Clean up is the responsibility of each seller.
* For this event, a NMS member is a current Family, Individual, or Youth paid membership.
